no turning back

On Monday, our lot looked like this:

And Tuesday, I got to see this beautiful pile of dirt on my way home from work.

As far as homes go, she definitely is modest. But we are oh-so-proud. It fits pretty much all of the must-haves for us (with future expansions in the plan). Here are the plans we have up to date: there are some adjustments already to be made. And sorry for the small scale, but I wanted to make sure the builder and architect stayed included.
I am in love with the porches on this house. A front porch that wraps around, and a covered porch in the back (I dream of the back porch being screened in someday). Right now we are planning on an all white house- but I will share more details on finishes in another post.

Hopefully you can zoom in. The main floor is simple, but it has nine foot ceilings, room for a back entry, half bath, office, and laundry room. I know that a lot of people love having the laundry room on the second floor. But for me, I like to be able to easily change loads (between snack time and coloring without having to run upstairs) and fold (while watching tv after the kido is in bed, instead of standing in the laundry room), so it just doesnt make sense for the laundry room to be tucked upstairs.

The second floor has four bedrooms, two bathrooms. I really wanted a two story plan because I like when the bedrooms feel more tucked away or separate from the living area.

I am hoping to do some DIY upgrades right from the beginning: as long as budget allows :) Otherwise I hope to be doing upgrades steadily after we move in : and Nate thought his to-do list with a new house would almost disappear!
